Centennial Garden Contest

Are you the best gardener in town?
Have you been gardening for years or is it a Covid skill that you have developed?

This may be your chance to prove if your green thumb is outstanding!

The Wendelville Fire Company is sponsoring a Garden Contest as part of the celebration of our 100 years of serving the residents of the Town of Pendleton. Our theme is America: Red, White and Blue. Town residents can register to participate in this once every 100 years event! Residents who sign up are asked to plant an area of their garden to represent our theme, America: Red White and Blue. The Fire Company will then judge these gardens on the following:

  • Landscape design, aesthetic consideration and curb appeal

  • Culture and maintenance

  • Loyalty to theme

  • Creative use of plant materials or ornamentation

The Fire Company will use a panel of judges, including local experts, to develop a score for each registrant. Top Scorer will win $100 and be the envy of all their friends and neighbors! Judging will take place the weekend of August 6th and 7th, one week before our 100th Anniversary Field Day to be held at Hall 1. Winners will be announced following our Grand Parade. There is a $5.00 registration fee per entry.
