From the Chief
1. Just a reminder that the proper response to a mutual aid call is to respond to hall #1 for engine 1 or the ambulance and to hall #2 if it is a rescue call. Please refer to the SOG’S for further information on responses. If you have a question please ask. 2. October is fire prevention month and we are very busy with the fire prevention trailer. These events are fun and an easy way to make social points. Please see Aaron Bair to help. We have had to turn some organizations down due to lack of manpower on our end. 3. There will be a line officers meeting on Wednesday October 22, 2008 at hall #1 at 1900. All line officers are requested to attend. If you are interested in running for any line officer position, please get me something in writing by this date so I can have an idea who is interested in what positions. The executive board will be making recommendations on 10/29/08. 4. Our annual open house will be on Saturday October 11, 2008 from 1300-1600. Please plan on attending and helping Shawn and his crew. Again, another good opportunity for a social point. 5. The new concrete pad is complete at hall #1. Please refrain from parking on this pad for the month of August so the concrete lasts. 6. Soon the bridge over the canal on Campbell will be closing (sometime in October or November). During the time frame that the bridge is out North Amherst and us will be toned out for any calls in or around the area of the bridge. 7. Please remember that every active member MUST have ICS 100 and NIMS 700 completed before 12/31/08 or you will be taken off the active roles. If you are a new member with less than five good years in the company, you would be expelled. It is each individual member’s responsibility to provide the proper documentation to the NIMS Officer, Training Officer or the Chief; we will not chase you down. |
